Casita Jorge's

Restaurants

Ahhh... Jorge's off of Pleasant Valley. Loved the Margaritas. Loved the enchiladas. Loved the whole bohemian Tex-Mex experience.

Older Jorge's

I used to eate there before they becam gentrified at the Pleasant Valley Roat location. They were originally located at the end of East 5th Street, where 1st, 5th and 7th street converged just before the Montopolis Bridge. We used to watch the roaches scurry off the table when we sat down. Great food, however. (The encheladas, not the roaches.)

Jorges

we still have the casita jorges annual christmas party, it's just not at jorges, I hear his daughter opened a new retaraunt in round rock, we went to try it, its on the square, food close to the same but the margs are not.

Do you happen to have any pictures of these places?

My grandfather owned both of them and we are looking for pictures from those places for a scrapbook to make him.

Thanks!!

Yes Maam indeed

Not too many of us left Patricia. Each and everyone I remember and went to. 'Cept SoapCreek, we called it DopeCreek...ha! The oysters at Ranbow Grill at the 4 seater bar. Ya did leave out Poodle dog and Dodge City Steakhouse out Lamar (Hippies be warned) And I remember what I think is the County Line on Hill used to be a place called Its Your Thang" or "Our Place". Maybe Dessau Dance hall, Vulcan, Cactus Club by the old "Digger"
Are you hip to an old place called Kings Village Rock Grounds out N35, I think down Howard lane? Anyway, to mention Big G's tells me you knew Austin.
Mother Earth, we started a war there one night. Basicly real Bouncers against pussbutt bouncers there. Don't forget the Pier, Hilltop, Lake Austin Inn and Carousel, Brooks cafe on 6th. Thanks for remembering all these places.

Write up your memories

I added the ability for site visitors to create their own stories under the "Tell Your Story" menu link. These would all be excellent individual stories so... go for it.
